Spring 2010

February 8th, 2010

Please come and join us for the annual Athens Area Home and Garden Show at the Classic Center on February 27 and 28.   This year we plan on highlighting some of the many aesthetic and durability benefits of using Timbersil on porches and decks, as well as providing more pictures of many of the projects we have completed recently.  Thanks to all of our past, current, and future customers.

We are starting our first Earthcraft house in two or three weeks.  We are very excited to tackle building an Energy Star, environmentally sound house.  For more information on Earthcraft see the link to it on our website or go to southface.org.

Newest Renovation

Please check out the blog page for the flyer for 357 S. Milledge Avenue. This is our newest renovation project and promises to be an impressive house upon completion. The owner is currently looking for a long term, commercial tenant.

I think anyone that has spent any time in Athens has noticed this house and wondered what was going to happen to it. We all happy that it will soon be returned to its former glory and simultaneously updated with all the wiring and comfort needs of a modern office.

Athens Banner-Herald

December 18th, 2009

They say that any publicity is good publicity, but sometimes its hard to know who it is good for. Just in case you noticed the article in the paper and were trying to get a little more information, I thought I should make a few clarifications.

Bona Fide Construction and Renovation is thrilled to be the Dooley’s contractor for their renovation/remodel. The demolition of the center of the house was the original plan for the renovation, as proposed by David Matheny of Armentrout, Roebuck, and Matheny, LLC. The primary intention of this is to increase the square footage of the house by increasing its depth, both forward and backwards.

While it is true that the house had extensive asbestos, in the drywall mastic, primarily, and some mold, none of this necessitated its complete demolition. The wings of the house constitute a substantial proportion of the existing square footage, although this may not be readily apparent from the road, and Matheny worked diligently to retain this square footage while augmenting the architecture of the entire house with the addition that will be taking the place of the current void.

If you are interested enough in all of this to be reading this response to ABH’s article, please contact us for further information. We will be happy to show you the plans and the scope of the project. You will find our contact information in this website.
